Organic is not just a rubber stamp: EVERY day I am thrown a lesson: We sowed “erba medica” (alfafa) seeds two days ago for two reasons (1) To replenish the nutrients in the soil in a natural way. These seeds will become grass, and whilst growing, roots will replenish nitrates in soil. (2) In spring, this wonderful erba medica will be nice and green grazing food for our horse Arabella. Now, with the sudden drop in temperature, it looks like there is going to be a third reason. (3) Seeds will be taken by ground insects for food to tide them over the winter.... Never a boring moment in the farm!

My friend Maria showed me her mother’s kumquat tree in full bloom here in Tuscany. Cooked a special sauce with our oil in celebration of the coming Chinese New Year...

Taking the next step. Bringing our oil online. It’s been a scary yet exhilarating adventure. Waking up every morning wondering how you would be able to do everything. Not to disappoint. Every sale has a face now, I think of how happy that person would be as they unpack the box. I add special details to make it more fun. Thank you for all the encouragement, I hope I will be able to live up to it!
