Being Organic. Giving Back 2

Five months after. The alfalfa is grown now, along with a field of wild flowers which attracted a lot of butterflies, bees and all kinds of insects. Beautiful as it may be, we now have to mow it, this will allow the roots to conserve all the energy in strengthening the roots in the coming dry months of summer. The cut grass will be left to dry and will be gathered for food in the winter months for our horse Arabella. The roots will be strong, and will be green again soon. This, to me, is the real meaning of organic farming. Many have asked, what benefit is it to the olive grove? Well, we look after the land that the olive grove will feed on, it may be a distance away, but the big picture is, we are just here for a short time, we take the nutrients, but we must replenish it, for the land will still be here, long after we are gone.
